Sub-Saharan Africans experience the highest maternal mortality rate in the world with 68% of all maternal mortality occurring in Sub-Saharan Africa with a ratio (MMR) of 533 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births, or 200,000 maternal deaths a year.
In the United Kingdom Black women are 4xMore likely to die in pregnancy than white women
In the United States Black women are four times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women.
Global Black Maternal Health is a platform for global unity on maternal health issues impacting Black people around the world.
The incidence of maternal death in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women was more than 3 times as high as that for non-Indigenous women.
